Prenatal & Postpartum Policy

At BECYCLE & BEYOND, your health and safety always come first. Our goal is to ensure every prenatal and postpartum client feels supported and confident throughout their movement journey. Please take a moment to review the important guidelines for Reformer Pilates below. For all other classes, we strongly recommend consulting your doctor beforehand. As a general rule, it is best not to begin a brand-new movement practice during pregnancy.

Guidelines

First Trimester (up to 14 weeks)

  • Medical approval required before attending reformer Pilates classes.
  • If you are new to reformer Pilates, we do not recommend starting during pregnancy.
  • If you have an existing Pilates practice and medical clearance, you are welcome in any class up to week 14.

Second & Third Trimesters (14+ weeks)

  • Please attend Prenatal Reformer classes only.
  • These classes are led by instructors trained in prenatal exercise and are designed to support your changing body safely.
  • Attendance in non-prenatal reformer classes is not permitted for health and safety reasons.

New to Pilates While Pregnant?

  • If you have little or no prior reformer experience, we recommend starting with private 1:1 sessions with a prenatal-qualified instructor.
  • This will help you learn proper movement patterns, understand safe modifications, and build a strong foundation.

Postpartum

  • Wait at least 6-12 weeks postpartum before resuming any workout, and only with your doctor’s approval.
  • We recommend starting with Prenatal Reformer (yes, they’re postpartum-friendly!) to gently rebuild connection to your core and pelvic floor.
  • Once cleared and comfortable, you can progress to Reformer Method classes.

Important Reminder

Please always inform your instructor before class if you are pregnant or postpartum so we can best support you.

Pre & Post-partum clients are also encouraged to book a private session to learn how to confidently and safely start or resume their Reformer practice when ready.

Please inquire to book here (Berlin) or here (Düsseldorf).
